How does Life Lease work?
Once you have chosen your suite, you enter into a leasing arrangement with Bethany Care Society. If, at any time and for any reason, you decide to end this agreement, Bethany guarantees to buy back your lease at 92 per cent of fair market value. And, just like owning a home you have the opportunity to build equity.
Life Lease Concept
The eight per cent that Bethany retains on buy back covers all the costs of getting the suite ready for re-leasing. This amount is well below the typical costs of selling a home, such as hiring a real estate agent and a lawyer, and helps to ensure that your suite is in great condition when you move in. A reasonable monthly fee is charged, similar to a condominium fee that covers the costs of maintenance and upkeep of the building and grounds, building insurance, heating and lighting in common areas, etc.
