Amenities

Situated close to public transportation, excellent shopping, restaurants and the Lake Sundance recreation area, life at Sundance on the Green can be as full of activity as you want.

Life lease

Life lease is a "home-ownership" arrangement similar to condominium ownership. Life lease offers the added advantage of guarantee buy back. If at any time you decide to end the life lease agreement, we guarantee to buy back your suite at the current assessed value, eight per cent of the market value, so no real estate or legal fees are incurred.

A reasonable monthly fee is charged similar to a condominium fee that covers the day-to-day operations of the building, including maintence in common areas, on-site management, a membership to Lake Sundance and most utilities with 24-hour on-call service for emergencies.

Suites

Open floor plans with nine-foot ceilings allow for furniture flexibility and suites include a kitchen, living room, dining room and sunroom, as well as in-suite storage. All suites include either a Romeo-and-Juliet or full balcony. One bedroom suites are approximately 880 square feet in size, while the two bedrooms suites range from 1056 square feet to 1200 square feet.

An underground heated parking stall and a storage locker are included. A main floor guest suite is available to rent on a short term basis.

Each suite offers senior friendly features including oversized wheelchair-accessible bathrooms, hallways and doors. Large windows allow lots of light into your suite making your home feel bright and spacious. In-suite storage area and additional storage is also available.

Pet-friendly  - small dogs are allowed on the main floor only and cats/birds are welcome in all suites.

Common areas

Each floor offers a common area for activities such as playing billiards, reading in the library, using exercise equipment, meetings, crafts and gardening. Most common areas face west and offer a beautiful view of the Rocky Mountains.

A kitchenette area can be used for special events in addition to an entertainment centre, piano, multi-use tables and chairs and a dance floor. There is also a large outdoor barbeque patio.

Housing Chaplain

Bethany Care Society is a faith-based organization and chaplains minister to residents representing a wide diversity of faiths and denominations. Residents can access Pastoral Care by contacting the Chaplain’s office at Sundance on the Green.

Community

Next door, St. Paul’s Anglican Church offers the opportunity to participate in a faith community. The communities of Lake Sundance and neighbouring Midnapore have active community associations including the Mid-Sun Seniors. Membership in the Lake Sundance Community Association and the use of all associated amenities is included in the agreement.

Activities

Having the ability to stay active in the community is one of the best things about living at Sundance on the Green. A Residents’ Association Committee holds regular meetings and hosts a variety of events.

Every day is filled with opportunities to be active such as games nights, movie nights, billard tournaments, puzzle groups, a carpet bowling league, a bridge group, Bible study classes, a book club, information nights, walks to Lake Sundance, shuffleboard and the occasional sporting event watched on the Great Room TV. Additionally, a weekly shopping shuttle service is offered to the Shawnessy Calgary Co-op.
