Posted on Thursday, February 04, 2010

On February 5, the Town of High River will open the Mundy Park Apartments, with Bethany Care Society as the manager. “This marks a new chapter in Bethany’s history, as we expand into a community south of Calgary,” said Greer Black, President and CEO.

“Bethany has a long and distinguished history of innovation and growth in response to community needs,” he continued. “We look forward to working with the town to further our mission of Creating Caring Communities in High River.”

The Mundy Park Apartments are on the northeast edge of High River, which is 65 km south of Calgary. There are three buildings with 24 apartments, divided equally between one, two and three bedroom designs, with private entrances and quality construction that is affordable for working individuals and families. The town will maintain ownership of the apartments and Bethany will provide professional property management.

Named in memory of past Town Manager Ken Mundy, the Mundy Park Apartments are the first workforce housing project undertaken by the Town of High River. “Through the judicious use of funds, Town Administration was able to complete a quality family project that provides comfortable, safe and affordable homes for the community,” said Doug Munn, Director of Community Services for the Town of High River.
Bethany Care Society is now accepting applications for Mundy Park Apartments and the first families are scheduled to move in around the middle of February.
