TELUS and Community Groups Garden for Bethany

Posted on Friday, May 28, 2010

Bethany Care Society will be teaming up with TELUS on Saturday, May 29 for the TELUS Day of Service. Volunteers from TELUS will be visiting Bethany Harvest Hills to work on gardening projects and spring grounds clean-up. Volunteers from other community groups will also be joining TELUS staff for the day – rain or shine.

Teresa Woo-Paw, MLA, Calgary-MacKay will be volunteering between 11:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. at Bethany Harvest Hills.

“This is a great opportunity for volunteers in the community to come together for a community project,” says Greer Black, President and CEO. “We’re really excited to have all this help getting the grounds in top shape, which means residents can get outside and enjoy the grounds sooner.”

This is the second time TELUS will visit one of Bethany’s care centres. In 2008 a group of volunteers visited Bethany Calgary to work on a similar project. This Saturday, it is expected that about 35 staff from TELUS will join volunteers from Bethany Harvest Hills, family members and the 31st St. Cyprian Cubs. In total, there could be more than 70 volunteers in attendance.

The day will begin at 9:00 a.m. and continue until 2:00 p.m.
